Henley Grange
Henley-in-Arden

RICS Award logo
2015 RICS WM Award for Best Residential Development - Henley Grange

Henley Grange is the conversion of a severely neglected late Victorian building into six houses alongside six new apartments, located on the outskirts of the Warwickshire market town of Henley-in-Arden.

Henley is an appealing and perennially popular market town with many beautiful older buildings. It has a good mix of restaurants, shops, pubs and coffee shops, including Costa and the traditional Henley Ice Cream Parlour.

The development is a 5 minute walk to the town centre but is set back from the road in a mature landscaped setting and, as such, provides the best of town and country living. The views from the top floor are across rolling countryside outside the town.

Henley has good local amenities and transport links: a golf club, tennis club, train station and it is close to the M42 and M40.  The population of Henley is approximately 3,000 and it has primary and secondary schools confirming its thriving local community.

The stunning three storey newly converted town houses have been designed to maximise the historic features and views offered by the original Victorian building including high ceilings, walk in wardrobe, stunning views, beautiful bay windows and detailed brickwork and stonemasonry, private outdoor space and designated parking set within a gated community.

Brand new two bedroom apartments benefiting from a study, lift access and designated parking. Generous ceiling heights, fitted walk through wardrobes, log burners are linked via an impressive glazed bridge and offer lots of storage space.

Kingsale Heights
Salcombe, Devon

Five brand new three-storey townhouses were developed on this site in beautiful Salcombe, Devon.

The site was previously occupied by one house but we maximised the development potential and created townhouses that were exceptionally well finished with environmental impact featuring highly in the design and detailing. Low future maintenance was also a key consideration and they were expressly designed with beach and sailing requirements in mind.

According to the Senior Planner "The whole planning team liked the scheme." when it was submitted.

Each property has dedicated parking and a private rear garden and the scheme is in an excellent location close to the train station, hospital and within walking distance of the town centre. Solar panels were installed as standard. Vine Mews proved very popular with private buyers and investors alike.

All units were sold within 5 months of completion in 2013.

Normandy House
Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

This Listed building was purchased as a somewhat run-down 1930’s Regency-style end of terrace. It was converted into six one and two bedroomed contemporary apartments.

Listing created certain torturous challenges, but we overcame them in progressing the conversion. The other difficulties of conversion within the existing walls and without any outside space to work with, yet minimising the impact on neighbours, were fully met. The resulting apartments provided light and spacious accommodation, including a roof terrace and a ground floor duplex unit.

Hardwick Farm Barns
Kineton, Warwickshire

These curtilage-Listed barns had been in agricultural use for hundreds of years and the responsibility of converting them sensitively, but to 21st century building standards, was a real privilege.  The barns were transformed into five beautiful homes, each unique in practically every way.

Greywell’s team strove to produce a design and build quality worthy of the buildings and their setting. This required multiple planning applications to extract the optimum scheme within the planning and listing limitations. These efforts were rewarded with two significant industry awards and being shortlisted for a Grand Designs Award.

We took care to minimise the impact on the surrounding countryside and introduced a meticulously planned planting and landscaping scheme around the finished homes to enhance the setting and maximise the enjoyment of our customers.

Cornwall Place

Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

Greywell developed this former abattoir in central Leamington Spa into 14 apartments, enhancing the presentation of the site enormously in the process. We also engaged with significant numbers of residential and business neighbours to improve the locality. Planning and covenant issues were considerable challenges early on but we drove the project forward and on to completion of the final sale to some very satisfied customers with professionalism and courtesy.

The local senior planning officer even complimented us after completion to the effect that we had made a ‘silk purse out of a sow’s ear of a site’.
